Synod & Mission

[Jesus] has shown us what it really means to be His disciples, founded on our understanding of the sacrament of Baptism — more essential to our identity than whether we are priests or laity, religious or married. It is baptism that establishes in each of us a personal relationship with God and makes us brothers and sisters in Christ.

Rt. Rev. John Keenan, Homily, Diocesan Synod Closing Mass

The Diocese of Paisley held its Diocesan Synod on the Role of the Laity in the New Evangelisation in Eastertide 2016, establishing the principles that continue to guide parish clusters today: the whole People of God participating in discernment and decision-making, the full participation of the laity in the life and mission of the Church, and the evangelisation of our parishes.
